 For almost three hundred years kids have had piggy banks. But this tradition actually started from a misunderstanding.
In the medieval ages, metal was too precious to be used for household supplies. So in western europe, they used an orange colored clay called 'pygg' to make dishes, pans, and bowls. Of course even back then, women hid money in secret hiding places. And the safest hiding place was inside a bowl baked out of pygg. That's how the 'pygg bank' was born.
Then in the 18th century, 'piggy banks' began to appear in england. A ceramist(도예가) had heard the word 'pygg' and just made the saving box in the shape of a 'pig'. Piggy banks were born out of this misunderstanding, and it still gets a lot of love. why don't you raise one today?
